CARANDINI AMBER LED SOLUTION SUCCESSFULLY INSTALLED IN A ‘ZONE E1’ DISTRICT OF BARCELONA

Last December, the municipal engineers of La Roca del Vallès (Barcelona) installed an amber LED lighting system by Carandini which has radically improved the quality of life of the residents of one of the town’s housing developments. The new installation also meets the regional requirements on environmental light pollution in ‘E1’ zones.

The Sant Carles housing development lies in Cordillera Litoral Natural Park and is classed as an Area of Natural Interest for its biodiversity. The local municipality has been renovating and repairing the development’s lighting stock since 2010, when the development became part of La Roca.
This renovation campaign includes the replacement of obsolete colour-corrected mercury vapour (CCMV) luminaires with new amber LED luminaires by Carandini, which not only improve the quality of life of local residents but also deliver improved energy efficiency and light output.
While residents benefit from even lighting that allows them to move around with greater safety, the municipal council benefits from reduced energy and maintenance costs. Add to this the fact that the new luminaires meet the upward flux and emission spectrum requirements imposed by law, and the new LED installation offers a total solution to the municipality’s lighting needs.
Many residents have been quick to express their satisfaction to the town council. It is a sentiment confirmed by various articles in the local media.
