The 2015 Road Tunnel Lighting Congress was held in Hotel Arts in one of Europe’s most dynamic cities: Barcelona. Carandini and its engineers attended the show, which was an opportunity for the company to share its vast experience in this sector and contribute to debates in which some of the leading names in the lighting world were participating.
Lighting technology is evolving extremely rapidly, and lighting specifically designed for road tunnels is no exception.
Among the issues debated at the congress were: How can operators use advances in technology to improve supervision and safety? How are standards changing, and how do these changes affect the lighting industry? Is LED the way forward? What are the advantages of LED?
Exhibitors from various European countries (many of them leading opinion-makers in the lighting sectors of their respective countries) took part in the two-day show, where Carandini presented its new T·MAX™ floodlight, a luminaire which optimizes conditions in tunnel transition zones for improved safety.
Among the speakers were Axel Stockmar, co-author of CIE 88:2004, and the Chief Technical Officer of Carandini, Xavier Travería, who hosted the presentation of the new T·MAX™ floodlight. With its excellent light output and modern design, the new luminaire attracted considerable attention.
